roo, just forget about getting a perfect sword for a little while, I guarantee you don't have the cash for it. A perfect sword with a rare skin can cost you 300,000 gold or more.

A "perfect" sword just has to be max damage (15-22) and have mods that you like. There is no definition for a "perfect" sword. It's different for different people.
If you want a "perfect" sword, first just get far enough in the game where all the swords you find are max damage. Once you get there, you will find different mods and different skins for your sword. If you see a skin you really like, then make sure it is a max damage sword. If it is max damage, keep it, and then just salvage mods that you like off other swords and apply those mods to the sword you like. Eventually, you will have a sword that is "perfect" for you. Alternatively, you can just get a green sword that you like from farming the boss that drops it, or buying it from players. If you want to know all the greens, then you can go to http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Main_Page and then scroll down to "Green" Weapons. |

I consider a perfect sword max damage and have a mod that you can't get rid of on it that is as good as it will get.

Don't forget there are also collector weapons. These will give you max damage and max stats - all for a certain number of collectible items. The skins on them vary from ugly to decent depending on what chapter your in.

People have this idiocy stuck in their head that 20/20 sundering and +30 fortitude is the best for every weapon in every situation and that anything different than that is just no good. To those players I say: What a joke. |

Perfect inherent mods for a sword are:
DAMAGE +15% always (no negative..these no longer drop) +15% while health is over 50% +15% always -10 armour whilst attacking +15% always -5 energy +5 energy +15% in a stance +15% while enchanted +15% vs Hexed foes +20% while hexed +20% while health is below 50% (note this list doesnt include the new inscriptions...we would be here forever) I think thats the lot. 'Perfect' is hugely dependant on what you need the weapon for, and what build you are taking. If you will constantly be using a stance for instance then a stance based sword will be, at least as, if not more effective than a 15^50 sword. In terms of prefixes and suffixes (hilts and pommels) my personal weapons of choice are usually vampiric or zealous (hilts) and usually a pommel of fortitude or defence(+5 armour always). defence is obviously far cheaper so run with this if you have too its arguably as good. Oh yeah and if you are going to Ebay GW gold, please at least be aware that : 1) Your account can be deleted for it 2) Anet employees regularly browse these forums 3) If you must ADMIT to it then dont leave your IGN attatched to your avatar...
